Plum Crisp


6 cups coarsely chopped Italian plums (I used 30 plums)

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

3/4 cup whole wheat (or all-purpose) flour

1 cup oats (I did 1/2 quick oats, 1/2 old fashioned)

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 stick butter, softened

  1. Heat oven to 375º.

  2. Place plums in baking dish.

  3. Mix the remaining ingredients with a fork, pastry cutter, or by hand, until the mixture is crumbly.

  4. Sprinkle over plums.

  5. Bake until the topping is golden brown and the plums are juicy and bubbling - about 45 minutes.
