This chili will change your mind about turkey chili and is such a healthier alternative to the typical beef or sausage chili.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 3-4 hours
This turkey chili can be made in a crock pot (I use a 6-quart crockpot.) or right on the stove in a big pot and is the perfect meal for a cold day, game day, a busy day, or any day. It is satisfying, healthy, and full of flavor. Set out a variety of your favorite chili toppings and everyone can customize their bowls before eating with a spoon or tortilla chips.
2 pounds of ground turkey
2 cans diced tomatoes
2 cans of light kidney beans
2 cans of dark kidney beans
1 16oz. jar of salsa
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon oregano
1 tablespoon garlic salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
Place ground turkey in the skillet and cook until brown.
Put the turkey into a crock pot or large pot.
Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, salsa, and spices and stir together.
Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours (or low for 6 hours).
Serve with toppings.
